Name: Rufus Shinra
Age: 25
Canon or OC: Canon
Weapons/Abilities:
Handgun:Rufus handgun in which he always keeps on him. Even though he was not a TURK in defense he has gone through TURK training and so he can aim quite well. Also with the gun being small he can appear to be defenseless as not many knows that he can use a weapon.
Dark Nation: Through an unknown power his loyal companion has came back with all of its memories. The black cat that has a large dose of mako injected into it can use bolt and barrier to protect its master.
♥I Ain't Gonna Live Forever♥[/size]
Personality: Rufus is someone who is very calculating. He talks quite a lot though. Some says that he loves the sound of his own voice even. Still even though he talks a lot he is very distant as he would rarely ever talk about himself. A very secretive man he keeps his inner thoughts to himself and only himself. Even those that are in his inner circle do not know him. He is constantly cautious and so he hates to reveal anything as it might be a secret and someone can use it against him later on which is not something he would prefer.
Not one to dirty his own fingers he usually sent out his TURK even on dangerous mission. Even then though he always appears calm making him seem quite heartless. Although that is simply a facade as they are the closest thing he considers to be a friend. Also even though it does not look like it, he can be loyal and very protective of others. Still not many know this.
History: Believe it or not Rufus wasn't born evil. No one was born evil in this world; no someone shaped him that way. That man was none other than the president of Shinra. Growing up, his father rarely ever let him out of the house and forced him to study. He was forced to be the best, if he was not he best then he was worth nothing. Power was everything, power was the only thing he needed, the strong survives and the weak dies. So many cruel words, whenever he didn't do something right his father would hit him. No one stopped the man from doing so, no one was brave enough. Fear always got to them and so they would watch the boy get beaten up, they would see him struggle to stand back up and continue his work like nothing mattered. Soon, they got used to it to the point where they didn't even care. Before then they would give him gentle words, which would encourage him. Words that made him smiled and nod before he continues his studies. Even though his father constantly abused him mentally and physically he never hated him. He wanted to make his father proud and the servants knew that. They knew how much he wanted him to smile and look at him for the first time. He knew that his father never spread him a second glance, they never even ate together but that would change. That would change if he makes his father proud. If he can get his father to like him they could be like all the other families right? They could smile, laugh and joke around with each other. So no matter how much work it was, he will do it. Yeah, he'll be the best so than his father would love him.
Even though he was neglected by his father, his mom was always close to him. She would help him study to be better and show him love. It should be quite obvious, he was very close to his mother and always depended on her. She would always wipe his tears away or boast him when he is low in self esteem. She was the one that accepted him for who he was whether he was powerless or weak. Whenever he was sick, his father would not even get near him while his mother would take care of him. She would constantly dress him up in all white because it was her favorite color and that it looked great on him. On his birthday, she would make him a cake and sing him a song while getting as much of the servants to sing. She would also give him presents, hug him, kiss him on the cheek and whenever he is scared, she would walk over just to sleep him. In each and every way the woman did the opposite of his father. While his father neglected him, she spoiled him to no end. It made him in a way different. When he is around his father, he's very quiet and obedient but when he is around his other he's outgoing and acted like any other kid his age. If he was lucky his father would allow him to see the plans for the Shinra building. At the age of five he suggested that his father install an escape chute.
Even though the boy was not allowed to have human friends, his mother did took him to get him a pet. She decided that if he was not allowed to have human friends than an animal was the next best thing. The animal he picked was a cute little black dog that he named Dark Nation. Only the boy knew why he picked that name and it was a simple idea really. The dog was black but the name Midnight was far too common and so he decided on the name Dark. The Nation part came from the fact that he was going to rule a Nation so why not name it Dark Nation? It was very kind and was always by the boy's side. Whenever his mother had to cook and his father was busy, he would play with it. There were times where he would seek comfort in the animal as well.
Although there were problems, his mother soon was struck ill but she hid it from him. One day when he was ten, he wanted to go to the festival in Midgar. It was his favorite festival and the two would go there every year no matter what. Every day he talked about how excited he was for the festival and how he hoped that his father could make it. Then they could go as a family for the first time but as usual his father never came. It didn't matter though; he was the president so he probably had a lot of work to do. He probably tried to make it a least. So once again his mother took him to the festival and the two had fun. As usual he wore all white since he liked the color and it made it harder for her to lose sight of him. At the end of the festival, there were so many fireworks, it was spectacular. Yes, it was so pretty and he cheered along with the crowd. He jumped up and down with glee as his eyes glued to the sky. At the very end as the last fire work died down, he turned around and saw his mother on the ground. He screamed at the sight, not understanding it at all. Why did she? What happened? So many thoughts ran through his mind as he kept on calling her name. She'll wake up, she probably was just tired, and she’s been tired lately after all. Just give him so rest and she'll wake up.
The next day the doctors came over and told the family that she's been pushing herself lately and that she was now gone. Those words shocked the boy, she's been sick but yet she still went to the hospital so that he wouldn't be sad. While he slowly slipped into depression his father didn't care and continued with his work like nothing happened. The sight crushed the boy, did he love his wife? Why didn't he care? The young heir didn't understand at all, it made no sense. When he asked his father, the man simply hit him and told him that there was no point in feeling sad, she was just a human and not someone to care for. That was when he finally understood, nothing would please his father. The man didn't care about anyone. All those years he spent on trying to be the best, all the studies, the tears that he had held back, the cries of pain he let out in his room, it was all for nothing. It didn't matter, no matter how hard he tries his father would never love him; they could never be a family.
On that day, Rufus Shinra became cold. His once love for his father became loathe and the innocent boy became cold and calculating. During the funeral he didn't wear white that day, he didn't want his mother to see him like that from the heavens, like everyone else he wore black. It was decided, that he would best his father, he would show his father that there was someone stronger than him. He would make his father weak and die just like how he had taught him. Nothing mattered in this world but power. The strong shall live and the weak shall die. Friendship was nothing more than the weak banning together. Humans were simply tools, not more, once done they were to be thrown away like trash. Yes, that was all there was in the world. That was all there would ever be. His once beloved pet was sent to have mako experimented on it. In truth he had hoped that it would kill it so he could say good-bye those innocent and blissful days but it didn't come true. Instead the animal became more like a leopard and was strong. Although it became cold just like him and would only obey its master.
When he became sixteen his father allowed made him vice presdeint. Unbeknown to the president though, his own son planned against him. Although there is obviously a traitor, no one knew that he was a benefactor to AVALANCHE, the group standing against Shinra. Although no one knew about this, not even the TURK, a group that were great at gathering information. No one was to be trusted at all. Even though he helps AVALANCHE, he doesn't necessary like them. In fact they are just a pawns to him. Even though some considered him a member, he really doesn't do anything other than supply them with money and information. In return though, they were to kill his father, the current president of Shinra. Still they had betrayed him and if it was not for the TURK he would have died.
During lock down the TURK watched over him and he hated his father. The main one though was Tseng as Veld had been the first TURK to make it out alive. The official story though was that he had been sent to Junon in order to do work. In truth he was under house arrest. Once his father was killed by Sephiroth he had became president and went onto a search for the Promise Land only to be foiled by Cloud though. When the three weapons were summoned he used the Sister ray to fight against it. It had failed and the building had exploded. Still he was able to escape thanks tot he escape chute built by his father. Ironically the password to get out was his birthday which surprised him.
As he set out to recover and help people he was captured and was inflicted with geostigma. He funded Edge though and built a monument and also secretly funded WRO after talking to Reeve. When Kadaj appeared he sent the remnant to Cloud to alert his attention as he hid Jenova's head. He fooled them for quite a long time but was soon caught. After Cloud had defeated Sephiroth rain fell down which cured his geostigma although he was not sure how. He continues to fund the WRO and would at times sent his TURK to help them when needed.

RP Sample:It was that day again wasn't it? Cold blue eyes turned towards the calendar. Yes, it was May first, today was the day where he no longer wears white. It was a silent vow he had made since that day, in front of her grave as the priest preached. It was the day that was forever engraved in his mind just like his father's lesson. It was something he could never forget, it was what made him, Rufus Shinra. He had made sure to be free today as today he wanted nothing to do with the company. Just for today, it meant nothing to him, power meant nothing to him. He slowly got out of bed and proceeded over to his closet. As he opened the door, he noted how much white there was. One could almost mistake it for heaven at first glance but he knew it was not heaven. His eyes were used to the sight; he saw it every single day. Also it was because she was not there. He took a step into the room, his eyes looking dull, lacking emotion as usual. Emotions were for the weak anyway. People cower under the strong out of fear, they praise the strong in order to be protected and they worship the strong as they feel worthless. That was not him; he would never be worthless, no matter what. He was not allowed to be worthless, if he was worthless than he would be alone, no one would listen to him and that would render him powerless. Hmph, him, powerless? H*** would freeze and that still would never happen. He was the son of President Shinra and therefore heir to the company so he couldn't be powerless. Once his father dies he would have the whole world in his hands.
That is except for the rebels, AVALANCHE but they're not much of a threat. In fact, that needed him, they depended on him. A small smirk graced his lips; yes they needed him in order for the group to survive. Without him, chances are Shinra would have already wiped them out so once he comes into power, he could easily destroy them. It wouldn't be hard; he knew a lot about them after all. He helped them stand where they are today so that meant that he could easily tear them down. It would take some work but it would just be a matter of time. He could just send turks after them, maybe Reno, Rude and Tseng. Those three worked pretty well today after all and since they weren't exactly known to the public it would be easy. It could be made to look like they have split after the evil tyrant died. Yes, it was the perfect stage and with AVALANCHE no longer a threat, it would be easy to rule people the way he would like to rule them. It was nothing like his father who use money. Hmph, to use money to bribe people to follow him, someone strong depending on the weak? The feel of his disgust surged through his body at that thought.
He continued down the room until he reached to the very end where there was one black suit. It was a black suit that he bought himself, a suit he had picked out. 'Rufus, the color white looks great on you.' A voice had echoed in his head. He knew who or rather what it was. The voice was nothing more than a memory of his mother, possibly the only person to care for him. He didn't understand why though, it didn't benefit her and she never used him so why did she care for him so much? He had understood back then, it was something known as a bond but now it felt so foreign. What is a bond really? Wasn't it nothing more than a small illusion created by the weak so that they could feel better about themselves for banning together? That was all that it was, but his mother wasn't weak, she was the wife of president Shinra. She didn't make sense, not anymore. That was why her voice always haunted him, because he no longer understood her and it only served to anger him. Why? Had he really became that much like his father? No! That couldn't be. He was nothing like that man, nothing like him! They were different, the heir was better than him.
Even with the anger boiling, the young blond was able to change his clothes and put on the black suit with ease. His mask not even having a single crack on it, rarely did it ever crack. He strode out of the closet and soon his room. The corridor of Shinra was full as usual with so many employees. It only made sense though; it was a big company and therefore needed a lot of people to run it. He continued down his path. People were smart enough to move out of his way, which is except for one. It was a new employee for sure if he didn't get out of the way. "Sir, what is with the black?" came the question from the employee. Really, if he was the president, the guy would have been fired, he was surely lucky. Although, once his father die he would surely fire the male, for now though he would have to tolerate him. Toleration, how he hated it. Hm, from the clothes the guy must be in the science department. "Oh? Are you the new janitor?" he asked, sarcasm drooling from every word. He didn't let the guy answer though and simply walked passed him without even sending a second glance to look at him.
He came into his limo; his driver closed the door for him. The ride was silent, just like his life these days. It was always quiet, he would be in his room quietly or working in his office. Rarely does he ever talk to people, and if he does the conversation were cut short. Even to the turks who were the closest to him, he rarely ever talked to them. Most of the conversations were just giving out orders for them to do. He didn't bother to get to know them; there was no point in that. They were strictly employer and employee. It wasn't like he was going to get close to them or eat lunch with them as a group. He never truly ate lunch with anyone after she died.
The car came to a slow stop as the driver quickly opened the door for him. He simply walked out and didn't thank his driver. There was no acknowledgment, not even eye contact let alone a nod. He walked up to the hill with a bouquet of flower in his hands. There were white roses, his mother's favorite flower. He gently let the plant rest on the grave as he felt grief. His mask broke, as a look of hurt came upon his feature but at that moment he didn't care. It was just like back then wasn't it? He wouldn't cry in front of his father or show pain but when he was alone with his mother the mask would always break. Just for today...just for today he would allow himself to be weak because he knew that she would be there for him. She would always love him no matter what; it was just the way she was. So today he would let himself show grief on her grave. Tomorrow, he would once again make his heart be as cold as ice; he would be calculative and uncaring. He would be the perfect leader for this world but today, he was not a leader. He was neither an executive nor an heir. Even if it was just for a short moment, today he was Rufus, son of Kathleen Shinra.
